Hartwig: Policy transparency is adequate

Customers have sufficient opportunity to evaluate insurers' policy forms before buying insurance coverage, argued Insurance Information Institute President Robert Hartwig, refuting a university professor's arguments about transparency in personal-lines policies. "Potential policyholders can review an insurer's policy forms prior to purchasing this essential product. They only need to make such a request of their insurance company representative or agent," he explained.
