FreshDirect's focus on existing customers pays off

Rick Braddock, who became chief executive officer of FreshDirect in March 2008, devoted his attention to strengthening ties to existing customers rather than recruiting new ones. In 2009, revenue grew 9% while the customer count remained flat, and since the online grocer began recruiting customers in January, it has increased enrollment by 20%.
