IRS rules may hinder businesses' growth

Entrepreneurs and small businesses are being overwhelmed by the Internal Revenue Service's growing list of tax requirements, Jeff Cornwall argues. They include a rule that requires businesses to file a 1099 form when they spend $600 or more with a single vendor. The burden, in addition to increased scrutiny by agents, means "[t]he deck is being stacked against small business," he writes.
