Rose: "Pile-up of regulatory issues" stunts economic recovery

Expectations of a huge boost in the economy and job growth may be irrational in the short term as companies are wary of expanding businesses due to numerous regulations of U.S. agencies, said BNSF CEO Matthew Rose. The volume of cargo that railroads carry can indicate whether the economy is progressing, and the current levels of BNSF's cargo volume suggest that the economy is in a "mixed" state, Rose said.
