DuPont, Dow Chemical cut jobs as large-company growth slows

Global economic demand and growth are not strong, according to CEOs of multinational corporations such as DuPont and Dow Chemical, which recently announced job cuts, and large companies are feeling the effects in the form of reduced margins. "This is a difficult time for corporate leadership to try and figure out: what can we do to maintain the type of earning growth that we've enjoyed? Unless something else happens, they won't be able to," said David Joy, chief market strategist at Ameriprise Financial.
