New lifetime-income products are challenging advisers whose clients want the security of guaranteed income but need help comparing options, experts say. The products aren't standardized, and resist the kind of fee comparisons used with mutual funds, experts say. Some advisers recommend talking to retirement-plan sponsors about how a product's features help meet the needs of specific plans.
