More hospitals strive to become energy efficient

More hospitals are using the Energy Star program's portfolio manager benchmarking tool in order to determine the most cost-effective energy efficiency projects, according to Environmental Protection Agency officials. The agency's national health care manager noted that only 134 hospitals have been certified under the Energy Star program, but more than 85% of acute-care hospital space has been benchmarked.
