Will Congress pass NCLB reform this year?

Legislation that would overhaul No Child Left Behind continues to face opposition even as some federal lawmakers are seeking to push the bill through Congress this year -- before President Barack Obama's administration can issue waivers from portions of the federal education law. Opponents include advocates for some student groups who are worried about changes to accountability measures. The legislation is set to be discussed Nov. 8 before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
