FAA approves use of most electronic devices throughout flights

The Federal Aviation Administration on Thursday announced that airline customers will soon be able to use most of their electronic devices throughout their entire flight, accepting recommendations made recently by an agency advisory group. However, voice communication on cell phones remains banned. The FAA expects customers will be able to use their devices from take-off to touch down by the end of the year, but left certification and implementation plans and timetables to the individual airlines.
