GE Healthcare to acquire Orbotech subsidiary for $9M

GE Healthcare has agreed to purchase Orbotech Medical Solutions, a unit of Orbotech, for $9 million. OMS is a maker of cadmium zinc telluride detectors that GE uses in its Alcyone nuclear medicine system. "We believe the future of nuclear medicine lies in the further development of CZT used in our Alcyone technology," a GE Healthcare official said.
