N.D. county voters decide on sales tax proposal for flood projects

Residents of Cass County, N.D., voted Tuesday in favor of increasing sales taxes to generate funding for projects designed to mitigate flood risks to the city. Voters made their call during a National Weather Service Flood warning for the area. The flood-protection projects include a Red River diversion plan, which could cost $1.4 billion, according to the Army Corps of Engineers.
