RFA, Growth Energy file motions against Calif.'s low-carbon rule

The Renewable Fuels Association and Growth Energy on Monday filed motions in federal court to block California's low-carbon-fuels standard, which they claim would bar corn-based ethanol from being sold in the state. "Our argument is that the regulation as written is unconstitutional and injurious to the domestic ethanol industry, and we don't believe a full trial is needed to decide that," the groups said. The court will hold a hearing on the motions for an injunction on Feb. 23. The groups sued the state in December.
