Class I-served Ill. port secures $8.5M TIGER fund for harbor project

An $8.5 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant will help build a new harbor and rail lines to connect America's Central Port in Granite City, Ill., and Southwest Regional Intermodal Freight Transportation Hub in Madison County, Ill. NSF, Canadian National, CSX Transportation, Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific currently have rail operations in the port.
