CREATE awards $10M contract for Chicago rail

The Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency Program awarded a $10.4 million contract to double rail capacity in the city's stockyards. CREATE said the project is 80% funded by the federal government, and 20% funded by freight railroads. The goal of CREATE is to streamline Chicago's freight and passenger rail for greater efficiency.
