FSI calls on SEC to review and possibly eliminate SRO rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission recently asked for comments on reviewing regulations and eliminating out-of-date or ineffective rules. In response, industry groups suggested that the SEC also consider rules from self-regulatory organizations. FSI said a proposed registration regime for municipal advisers would be redundant with rules covering broker-dealers and suggested that rules covering FINRA's Trade Reporting And Compliance Engine should be changed to reduce numerous technical violations.
