Hospitals pay for preventive care to reduce ER use

Minneapolis-St. Paul hospitals hope to reduce nonemergency use of their ERs by helping to pay for preventive care for uninsured patients at local clinics. The group of hospitals will contribute $500,000 in 2009 for annual physicals, screenings and other primary care services.
