More than 60% of Americans ages 25 to 34 own smartphones, according to Nielsen, which also notes that smartphone penetration has yet to reach 50% of the entire market. "This is a wake-up call for potential advertisers waiting for a tipping point for mobile media or for smartphones to reach the majority," said Nielsen analyst Don Kellogg.
