PlateMate shows calories but not nutrition, RD says

The PlateMate smartphone application uses crowdsourcing technology to identify food on a plate and estimate the number of total calories. Registered dietitian Joan Salge Blake says the app can provide only a rough estimate and adds that there is more to nutrition that simply counting calories.
