RealD, Samsung break off 3DTV development deal

RealD reports that Samsung Electronics has ended its agreement to develop 3DTV sets based on RealD's ZScreen 3D viewing technology, first unveiled at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show. Samsung said it had decided "to focus on our own initiatives of 3D technology ... including a glasses-free 3D solution for the home." RealD said it would seek "other potential partners" for the ZScreen technology.
