District hires principal for growing online-education program

A Florida school district has hired its first virtual principal to oversee 20 teachers in the district who teach virtual classes part time. Officials say it was necessary to hire a principal because of growth in the program. Officials say more students are enrolling in the program because of a state law requiring high-school students to take at least one online course.
