SEC considers changes to shareholder-information rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission says it is considering changes to rules that allow shareholders to remain anonymous. Companies want access to more shareholder information, said Brett Breheny, deputy director of legal and regulatory policy in the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance. Under current policy, shareholders deemed an "Objecting Beneficial Owner" have the right to withhold their identity.
