Escorted tour prices saw minimal increase in 2014

The average price for escorted tours in 2014 rose 5% at most, with tour operators attributing the modest increase to higher supplier prices and favorable fluctuations in exchange rates. Half of all departures at Abercrombie & Kent in 2014 are priced lower or the same as prices in 2013, with the other half rising an average of 2% to 5% in price. Tauck reported less than 5% increase in prices on some tours. Tour prices in Europe at the Globus Family of Brands rose about 4% compared with prices a year ago.
