Macy's aims to grow its brand with $400M flagship makeover

Macy's iconic Herald Square flagship is about halfway through a four-year, $400 million renovation that will add about 100,000 square feet of retail space and update the 111-year-old facade and luxurious spaces to sell high-end goods. "To continue to grow the brand, we needed to elevate the store experience," Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren said. "That meant adding new brands and creating a luxury component that we didn’t have before."
