Private labels revamp image to draw consumers

Consumers are continuing to purchase private-label products as the economy recovers, partly because of better offerings and marketing by retailers. Several companies have revamped the private-label system to include three tiers -- a value brand, a national-brand equivalent and a premium brand -- to drive customer loyalty and to improve consumer perception of private-label products.
