Extensively drug-resistant TB kills 49% of patients, study finds

Researchers found that the survival rates of patients with extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis are lower compared with those of patients with multidrug-resistant TB. The finding highlights the importance of administering more aggressive treatment therapies in patients with XDR-TB, the researchers said.
