Hotels note decline in government meetings business

Hoteliers are observing a decline in government meetings and are implementing various marketing strategies to draw business. However, hoteliers still forecast strong growth in the meetings business this year and into 2012 on a marked increase in corporate travel demand. Data from the Global Business Travel Association show an expected increase of 4.3% in overall business-travel spending in 2012, to $260.9 billion.
