United, Alaska Airlines plan flights powered by algae biofuel

United Airlines has teamed with Solazyme, and Alaska Airlines is partnering with Dynamic Fuels to offer commercial U.S. flight powered by biofuel. United Airlines was scheduled to launch the first flight today, and Alaska Airlines is planning the first regularly scheduled biofuel flight service, starting Wednesday, from Seattle to Washington, D.C., and to Portland, Ore.
