Report: Small hospitals prefer large clinical IT vendors

A KLAS report finds that hospitals with 150 or fewer beds are turning to big clinical IT vendors such as Cerner and Epic more often than community vendors, driven in part by a need to comply with meaningful use mandates. "Most large hospitals have already chosen a CIS, so community hospitals represent the largest potential client pool for vendors," the report's author said.
