SEC investigates how banks disclosed subprime investments

Christopher Cox, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, said the commission is looking into whether U.S. banks practiced sufficient disclosure in regard to subprime mortgage investments. The questions have risen from the multibillion-dollar write-downs the major investment banks have taken in the third quarter.
