France boosts cancer research with Arronax cyclotron

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon has inaugurated the Arronax cyclotron, which is designed to more accurately deliver radioactive protons to kill cancerous tumors. This cyclotron, located in Nantes, France, is three to four times more powerful than most of the comparable machines currently used in cancer treatment, according to a nuclear medicine expert.
