From 28% to 56% of workers are so demoralized they're seriously thinking about quitting their jobs, according to a survey of 30,000 employees in 17 countries. That suggests bosses need to do more to ensure that their strategic decisions and management styles aren't inadvertently contributing to their employees' unhappiness, Jim Collins says. "The best leaders don't worry about motivating people, they are careful to not demotivate them," he said.
