Retailers unwrap shopping apps for the holidays

Wal-Mart Stores, Apple, Toys "R" Us and other retailers upgraded mobile applications in preparation for holiday shopping. Wal-Mart introduced an enhanced app for the Apple iPhone that lets shoppers create and modify shopping lists by speaking, typing or scanning bar codes. Apple added a feature that lets shoppers buy items with their mobile device and pick them up at an Apple Retail Store.
