Small-business optimism increased in October

NFIB's optimism index increased to 90.2 last month -- the highest it's been since June, but well below the levels experienced during the last recovery. The index averaged 88.6 during the recession. "It's hard to call it a recovery with unemployment about as bad as it was at the recession bottom. Prospects for the future have not improved," said NFIB's William Dunkelberg.
