Obama Pentagon nominee refuses to name consulting clients

Frank Kendall III, nominated by President Barack Obama for a top Pentagon weapons-buying post, has disclosed consulting fees paid to him by two defense contractors, but his refusal to name six other clients has raised concerns among some ethics watchdogs in Washington. "It kind of raises a red flag as far as the Obama administration's efforts to keep contractors out of the Department of Defense," says an official with the nonpartisan Project on Government Oversight, but a White House spokesman insists Kendall is adhering to the administration's ethics guidelines.
