M2M pioneers launch open-source development coalition

Four innovators of machine-to-machine technology have joined together to establish a working group seeking open-source solutions to further M2M deployment and reduce the barriers to entry. Eclipse Foundation, Eurotech, IBM and Sierra Wireless are the founding members of the coalition, which builds on an existing effort by Eclipse -- known as the Koneki project -- aimed at creating tools for M2M developers.
