More than half of providers use e-prescribing

Fifty-two percent of office-based providers used e-prescribing as of September, up from fewer than 10% three years ago, Surescripts research found. The CMS' e-prescribing incentive program, the rapid growth of electronic health record systems, and the active support of health plans and government agencies have contributed to the increased adoption of e-prescribing.
