Exec: Shell sees promise in North, South American operations

Marvin Odum, president of Shell's U.S. unit, expects North and South America to play a larger role as the company works to increase worldwide production of oil and natural gas in the long term. The region is set to be a "disproportionately growing part of Shell" in the startup of natural gas ventures in the U.S. and Canada and deepwater projects in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil, he added.
