Risk of death higher with rheumatoid arthritis and depression

People who were diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis as well as depression had double the risk of dying compared with those without depressive symptoms, according to a study presented at a meeting of the American College of Rheumatology. Depressed male patients were twice as likely to die compared with their female counterparts, researchers said.
