Dow: Weak global demand could hurt sales in first half of '09

Dow Chemical reports that with weak global demand, its sales volumes could drop as much as 20% through the first half of 2009. Volumes have already dropped 10% to 20% since October. Meanwhile, speaking at a conference in Michigan this week, Dow's vice president of global supply, Jim Varilek, said management of the company's supply chain enables Dow's strategy.
