Dutch pension manager criticizes proposed transaction tax

APG Asset Management voiced concerns about a European proposal to tax financial transactions. "The rough calculations point to a multibillion-euro damage just for Dutch pension funds," said Guus Warringa, chief legal counsel and board member at APG. The proposed tax is "a shining example of the law of unintended consequences." Several trade groups and financial experts also oppose the idea.
