Official: Western Australia allows production of biotech cotton

Western Australia Agriculture and Food Minister Terry Redman announced that the state government will allow the commercial production of biotech cotton at the Ord River irrigation area in Kimberley. The approval, which marks the end of a state ban on biotech crops, comes after field trials found no agronomic and environmental concerns linked to the crop.
