CNN uses humor to promote its online arm

TV viewers soon will see a different, more "lifestyle" side of the news anchors of CNN. Personalities such as Anderson Cooper, Lou Dobbs and Paula Zahn are staring in a marketing campaign for the news channel's online arm, CNN.com, that uses humor to humanize the news stars. The ads, which begin today on Turner cable channels, come as CNN continues to be behind in the ratings to rival Fox News Channel which has focused on personality driven news programming.
