Halliburton launches website on fracking chemicals used in Pennsylvania

Halliburton started voluntarily naming the chemicals it uses in hydraulic fracturing by launching a website that the company claims shows the three most-used fracking chemical solutions in Pennsylvania. However, a company spokeswoman said that the new website was not intended to fulfill the Environmental Protection Agency's request for company-specific information. Many of the chemicals identified in the website, including hydrochloric acid, methanol and acetic acid, are present in household and industrial products.
