Allowing the renewable-energy Production Tax Credit to expire at the end of 2012 would further the "boom-and-bust" cycle for U.S. wind power, according to Tulsi Tanti, chairman and managing director of Suzlon Energy. "Today everyone is selling just at cost level. ... Nobody is making any margin whether it’s a supplier, a turbine company or a project construction company," Tanti said. Until Congress extends the PTC, the market for 2013 "has a question mark over it," the American Wind Energy Association said.
