OPPD targets Q1 2013 restart for Neb. nuclear plant

The restart of Omaha Public Power District's Fort Calhoun nuclear plant in Nebraska has been moved back to the first quarter of 2013 as the utility addresses containment maintenance and other concerns, a spokesman said. "We've gotten the restart checklist and we're looking to be able to heat up the plant in the first quarter of next year. Our goal had been December if there weren't additional areas that needed work. We have areas that need work around the containment," said OPPD spokesman Jeff Hanson.
