Veterinary dermatologist Klaus Loft, of the Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, is treating a former stray cat with a rare skin fungal infection called Cryptococcosis. Less than two months after Anne Keating took Frankie the cat off the street and into her home, he developed the worrisome skin lesions, which could have led to his death if left untreated.
