Medicare to cover heart disease prevention office visits

CMS said Medicare will begin covering cardiovascular disease prevention office visits as part of the government's initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years. New guidelines will cover one visit a year with a primary care provider to determine the best way to prevent cardiovascular disease, including through diet, an aspirin regimen or hypertension screening.
