Plastic surgery helps child start school with a smile

Plastic surgeon Albert Oh used a tissue expansion technique before removing a giant nevus from the face of a child from Iceland. Over a series of surgeries, Oh expanded the child's skin using a saline-filled sterile balloon and removed the nevus. The birthmark covered one-third to one-half of the child's face.
