Study: Supervised sedation is safe for cosmetic surgery

Sedating patients for outpatient cosmetic surgery is safe if done under the supervision of a plastic surgeon, according to a study published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. Surgeons should evaluate the patient's health in general and upper airway in particular before sedation is administered, researchers said.
