China to allow brokerages to start margin trading

Fang Xinghai, director general of the Shanghai Financial Services Office, said the China Securities Regulatory Commission will allow brokerages to begin margin trading in December. The securities regulator will accept brokerages' applications for the programme starting Dec. 1, with Citic Securities, Guotai Junan Securities, Haitong Securities and Everbright Securities as leaders of the pilot programme.
